Just add firewood. Cool air enters from the bottom, superheats as it rises through the double walls, and creates a secondary burn at the top that consumes smoke for a cleaner experience.

As your firewood starts to burn, cool air is drawn in through the bottom holes — this is the primary burn. A little smoke is normal at the beginning.

Then the secondary burn takes over. Convection pulls air up through the double walls, where it becomes superheated. This hot air exits through the small holes at the top of the inner wall, mixing with the rising smoke and reburning it completely.

This smart two-stage combustion process continues as the fire burns, dramatically reducing smoke so you can enjoy a beautiful, warm fire without the eye irritation or smoky smell on your clothes.
